The Road to PAX East 2013

Yes. It is that time of the year. Tomorrow, Boston will be the host of yet another PAX East and we're counting down the minutes. For those of you who haven't been paying attention, PAX East 2012 was the inspiration for the two of us to start this blog and this year we are preparing to live the PAX experience to the fullest. Since the blog's inception (*BWAAAAAH*) we have taken to the Twittersphere, started capturing some shenanigans on Youtube, launched our own streaming channel on Twitch.tv, successfully established a weekly Firefall event by the ever-so-clever name of Friday Night Firefall, designed our very own t-shirt, and hosted our first Firefall Community Tournament "Smash n Bash". We have gained a small, yet growing, following across the globe and the journey has been a blast.

Now it's high time to take this puppy full circle and dive into PAX East 2013. Here's what we will be up to.

Top 5 Games EF and/or WF Are Drooling Over!

While the fact remains that we are brothers, we still tend to fancy different stuff from time to time. So expect anywhere between 5 and 10 games/announcements to be covered. We'll share what we like and if we overlap we will be sure to share each of our takes! Prepare for a mixture of wide-eyed fan-thusiasm and cautious optimism. We are definitely visiting the booths for Riot, Bethesda, Ubisoft, Blizzard, Gazillion, Wizards of the Coast, Astro, Super Giant, and 2K.

Teh Panelz

Last year we largely ignored the panels, but this year we have a couple panels we are possibly going to attend, such as the Magic the Gathering and DayZ panels. We are also attending the Red 5 Studios press event Friday and rolling into Firefall Live. And why would someone attend PAX without checking out at least one Penny Arcade Q&A? Mike and Jerry are hilarious and make this trip alone worth the time.

The first ever 8-Bit Tavern Rendezvous Point!

That's right folks! Much like the Rebel Alliance, you too will have your chance to meet at the Rendezvous Point. And even better, you get to drink with the two of us! Since most of the community members we know are into Firefall, we thought we would kill two birds with one beer and roll our meet-up into the Red 5 Studios meetup at Empire, a mere stones throw from PAX. We will even try to be classier than usual. If you ordered an 8-Bit Tavern t-shirt, you can collect it there! And if you really want to hang with us some more, make sure you register for the Curse afterparty on Saturday night.

Flying by the Seat of our Pants

We really don't like to structure PAX too much. We roll with what we see, who we meet, and wherever our fun compasses point us. Will there be retro gaming action? Some Rock Band showboating? Magic drafting? Tabletop shenanigans? Who knows?

This is our gaming Mecca, or perhaps more accurately, our Techa. It's going to be an epic weekend and if you're going to be at PAX, watch our twitters for our movements and keep and eye out for our t-shirts (see the logo above).

Sláinte and stay classy, Internet.
