The Walken Dead needs more cowbell

OH SNAP... I am, The Walking Dead. How... inconvenient.

Admit it, when you read that caption you read it in EXACTLY Christopher Walken's voice. Any who. About 6 months ago I watched 4 episodes of The Walking Dead and I really enjoyed it. Then I kinda fell out of watching the rest of the season. About a week ago, my buddy from college said he has 7 of the hardcover graphic novels and he is willing to let me borrow all of them. Then we started talking about the new game that was created by Tell Tale GamesThe Walking Dead. So I had to go home and get it on XBOX. Then he came over and brought the novels with him. Let’s just say my Sunday and Monday afternoons were buried into those books. And I loved it.

The books are amazing. I love everything about them. The way they are written, as well as the way they are drawn. I have never been a huge reader in my life time. I was always the kid to grab the controller over the book or even a movie. The first book kept me up til 4 AM on Sunday and then I finished the rest of the book later that afternoon. Monday I get home and all I could think about was how the next book was going to go. They left off the chapter, Miles Behind Us, SO well. I am going onto Book Three now, which starts with Chapter 5.

The video game, the reason for all these words to be brought onto your interwebs browers, made me feel... stupid. Being brainwashed like any other person who has played a zombie killer game or watched a zombie apocalypse movie, this game took all of that and just wiped that slate clean like a baby's bottom.  After about 30 minutes of game play, and making my first critical decision, I realized that this game isn't about killing zombies at all. It was about surviving. I kind of perked up when I finally came to realization of that. It honestly was like a very interactive movie but you can change how it's told. I love how games do that. Making the story my own. My buddy and I are already playing 2 different kinds of games and for 5 more episodes we will be playing different games. Also, it will let me tell you my story! Awesome.

Now for my choices. I did not make the same choices as the majority of the Walking Dead community did. So with my first choice I was honest to Hershel. I cannot really see a reason why not to be. At this point why start lying to people? I understand you can be who ever you want to be because no one knows you but I felt the need to be truthful to Hershel. I mean the man fixed your leg, it was the least you can do.

My second choice I went with Shawn. This one was one that the general community chose. Shawn was a good set of hands. He has shown he knows how to survive and he is level headed. Unfortunately. The out come of that decision was not really what I wanted to it be. In the end it did help me build my relationship with Kenny though.

The third choice I had to go with Kenny. I couldn't stand Larry. First off, I didn't agree how he just wanted to kill Kenny's son without any evidence that he was bitten or even care at all. And I defended Kenny once, and I want him to have my back. He's a man with a family to look out for and shows he will put them above himself so he won't get selfish in the near future if I try to protect his family from the get go.

I cannot see a reason to give a girl, who you just met, a loaded gun especially in the condition she was in. She had nothing to lose at all and who knows her mental capacity. For all I know when we give her the gun she could just unload on us all then do what she wants for finish herself. Even though I chose not to give her the gun, things went another direction. At least I made the right decision from the start, in my eyes.

The last decision, Carley VS. Doug, was a tough one for me. A lot of people said that why have someone who is good with technology in a world without technology? All I can think of is how he reprogrammed the remote to help you get the keys. I find that to be extremely helpful rather than have Carley go in there, guns blazing and painting the street with Zombie Kool-Aid. This would also attract more zombies. On the contrary, it would be nice to have Carley to get you out of tight situations. In the end I went with Doug because I feel like he will play a huge role in trying to survive this game. The only thing I am worried about is Doug with the next episode and the focus being hunger. We will just have to see how it all plays out!

For now I cannot wait to return home to my GTX 550 Ti sitting on my door step and try to thin down my supply of Shipyard Applehead while I put this bad boy in my computer.
